This is a sad story, and any one of us can end up with an unbelieving child. There is a minor point in this story that struck me. It might just be a misstatement but it reflects the wrongheaded theology of many. Abraham Piper did not BECOME and unbeliever at 19. Our children are not born believers, or even inclined to believe. They are born as lost as anyone else in the world. They must become convinced by the Holy Spirit and the power of the Word. May God grant us the grace to reach our most dear mission field–our own children (KSchaal).
In video snippets on his evangelical upbringing, such as his Christian education, Abraham Piper, whom his father revealed in 2012 had become an unbeliever at the age of 19, has attracted a following of almost a million followers as of Monday evening after posting his first video in November. His videos have also amassed nearly 15 million likes.“What is something they told you in school which you found out was a complete lie?” a fan asked of Piper in one video.
