The National Day Of Prayer Contradicts the Bible

As you probably know, just last week our nation observed The National Day Of Prayer. President Donald Trump issued an official proclamation concerning it, and events occurred in relationship to it.

One of those events included a time of prayer held on the White House lawn. Representatives from various well-known religions participated in the prayer time.

Prayer is a good thing, unless it contradicts the teachings of God’s Word, the Bible. Once again, the National Day Of Prayer did that very thing. How so? By endorsing the beliefs of those from non-Christian religions. Well-taught, Bible-believing Christians are Trinitarians. That means they believe there are three persons in the Godhead: the God the Father, the Son (the Lord Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. The National Day of Prayer puts Trinitarians on equal footing with non-Trinitarians and anti-Trinitarians. Christians don’t pray to the same god/gods as non-Trinitarians. Well-taught Christians believe non-Trinitarians pray to a false god or to false gods.

Therefore, for Trinitarians to join in prayer with non-Trinitarians is an offense to the one true and triune God who has revealed himself in his Word, the Bible, and through the incarnation of his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Sadly, Christian leaders such as Evangelist Franklin Graham and Pastor Robert Jefress participated in and promoted these anti-Biblical prayer meetings. What they should have done is refuse to participate in them. They should have done something else, as well. They should have publicly said such prayer meetings offend God Almighty. They should have called fellow Christians to refuse participation in order to avoid compromising their Christian faith.
