November 11

November 11, the anniversary of the Armistice that ended World War I, is observed in many countries worldwide. The Armistice was signed on the “eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.” Originally called Armistice Day, it now has different designations around the world.

Veterans Day, USA, Denmark [on Sept 5], Norway

Remembrance Day, Canada, Australia, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, India, Kenya, United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Serbia

Remembrance Sunday, Saint Lucia, South Africa, Hong Kong, Ireland

In the United States, Veterans Day honors all veterans of foreign wars, Memorial Day (in May) commemorates those who died in wars. In Canada and other countries, Remembrance Day honors the war dead.

Other nations hold similar days of remembrance.

Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given:
and the government shall be upon his shoulder:
and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor,
The mighty God, The everlasting Father,
The Prince of Peace.

Isa 2:4 And he shall judge among the nations,
and shall rebuke many people:
and they shall beat their swords into plowshares,
and their spears into pruninghooks:
nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
neither shall they learn war any more.

Rev 22:20 ¶ He which testifieth these things saith,
Surely I come quickly.
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
