Democrats Have Made Abortion the Only Issue in This Election

As a pastor, preaching the word of God, I have tried to keep politics out of the pulpit. I prefer to preach civic responsibility and the stewardship of the vote that is providentially entrusted to all adults in the USA and includes believers. Withholding your vote is an abdication of stewardship. I rarely mention specific political parties, but I will now.

Political choices are often quite a dilemma for conscientious believers. Most politicians are not true believers even though they might claim God on the campaign trail. Many also have not lived commendable lives morally. Some believers hold their votes unless their candidates are lily white morally, or at least somewhat so. Others are much more practical and vote more on the campaign issues than on the candidates themselves. This divergence of thinking divided believers of all stripes deeply in the 2016 presidential election and bled over into the 2020 election.

There should be no such variation of thinking in this election.

This election is about abortion. Republicans have not made it so, the Democrats have.

In the wake of the monumental Supreme Court decision last summer, abortion regulation decisions are being returned from the courts to the legislatures—both State and Federal.

The DNC platform espouses a position on abortion that allows for no limits whatsoever up until the point of birth. Democrats have even refused legislation that would entitle a baby born alive during a failed abortion to the basic medical care that any other baby would be afforded. This is infanticide. It is murder. God judged the world in the time of Noah for such things as this.

The purpose for government, which was established in Genesis 9 by God, is to protect the innocent against the threats of evil-doers.

In this election cycle almost all the Democratic political advertising on all levels is about abortion. They reject any restrictions on abortion as against women and extreme. There is no other discernable message coming from the Democratic party. They have become the party of death—but not just death–murder. They are running on a death platform.

As I see the pro-abortion political ads on the internet and other media, I pray every time that God will turn these ads back on themselves—that they would have the opposite of their intended effect.

This is all they have to champion. This is all they speak about. President Biden has called the protection and continuation of abortion in this nation his number one priority following this election. He must not be given the support to accomplish this task. Such talk should ignite every believer into action on election day.

Democrats do not deserve the vote of even one Bible-believing Christian.  I cannot help but think that any vote for such an agenda makes the voter complicit in the results that follow. For a believer to sit out this election is horrific negligence. Not all elections are as clear-cut as this.

This election is about life and death. Vote. Vote for life on election day.
