The Doctrine of Separation Part 2

In The Doctrine of Separation Part 2, Dr. David Innes concludes the message we posted last week, The Doctrine of Separation Part 1 (see below for link).

In this message, Dr. Innes continues to survey many separation passages in the New Testament. They are Eph. 5:7,11; Titus 1:13; 1 John 4:1-3; 2 John 7-11; 2 Timothy 3:5; Galatians 1:6-9; 2 Cor. 6:14-18; 2 Thess. 3:6,14,15; Titus 3:10; Rom. 16:17-20.

In the notes, Dr. Innes reminds us:

Please note that the doctrine of separation applies to both unbelievers and to believers. The practice of the doctrine of separation assures the purity and preservation of the other doctrines. This is a very general sampling of texts, not a comprehensive explanation of personal and/or ecclesiastical separation. Tit 1:13 is viewed by some as a reference to straying believers. Whatever their precise spiritual status, one’s responsibility toward them is clear.

The doctrine of separation is largely ignored by most professing Christians. This message, originally preached in 2000, is a timely reminder of God’s directions concerning separation.

You can find the sermon here and the notes can be found attached to Part 1, see link below.

Dr. David Innes is the pastor of Hamilton Square Baptist Church in San Francisco.
